City of Gladstone, City Council, Position 1

Candidate: Antonette “Toni” Perry

I have been proud to call Gladstone home for 24 years. As a longtime homeowner, I have a personal investment in our community and in preserving the qualities that make Gladstone a great place to live: small, safe, friendly, and connected.

For 27 years, I served the public in two demanding fields where integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and accountability were not optional. I spent nearly 10 years as a 911 dispatcher, where remaining calm under pressure, listening carefully, and making difficult decisions when people were depending on me were part of every shift. I then spent 16 years in the Office of the Trial Court Administrator of the Clackamas County Circuit Court, working in an environment where fairness, confidentiality, accuracy, and impartiality mattered every day.

I have also owned two businesses and earned an Associate Degree from our local community college. These experiences have given me a practical understanding of responsibility, accountability, and the consequences of decisions.

I believe local government should be independent and nonpartisan. City issues should be considered on their merits, based on facts, common sense, responsible stewardship, and what is best for Gladstone as a whole—not partisan politics, special interests, or the demands of a select few.

I believe Gladstone residents value the character of our small community. Growth and change should be thoughtful and appropriate for Gladstone, not pursued simply because bigger is assumed to be better. I do not believe we need to turn Gladstone into a destination for big-city tourism or change the community to accommodate transient interests at the expense of the people who live here.

If elected, I will listen to residents, ask questions, consider different perspectives, and make decisions based on what I believe is in the best long-term interest of Gladstone. your business offers? Say it here.
